Shabbat Services
Friday evening services are held at the Synagogue each week as follows:
18:00 during the winter (GMT) 19:00 during the summer (BST)
We also hold a monthly Family Service at the Synagogue on the first Saturday of each calendar month at 10:00. Parents and younger children are welcome to meet informally in the Centenary Hall or to join the
congregation. Older children and teenagers are especially welcome to attend and to participate in the service.
There is a Kiddush provided by the Guild after the service.
Dates for the next few months are:-
Saturday 4 February Saturday 3 March Saturday 7 April (Passover - first day) Saturday 5 May Saturday 2 June
Service for learners
In addition to published services we hold an informal Shabbat morning service at 10 am on some intermediate Saturdays in the month. This is an occasion when we can assist those members or guests who are not
totally familiar with the Chatham liturgy. These occasions may sometimes take the form of a study session or discussion in conjunction with an abbreviated service. Please check with David Herling to find out when
these will take place.
We have produced a transliterated siddur (prayer book) to assist any members of the congregation who are not fluent at reading Hebrew. For further details visit our Transliteration page.
